If you or your partner have already been diagnosed with gonorrhoea, I can prescribe Suprax (cefixime) - an effective single-dose oral antibiotic to treat gonorrhoea. An online confidential consultation can alleviate embarrassment if you don't want to visit your local doctor or GUM clinic to be treated for an STI.
A powerful oral antibiotic, Suprax "cefixime" works by killing the bacteria responsible for the infection. We also prescribe an accompanying course of azithromycin to treat possible chlamydia infections.
Gonorrhoea is a bacterial infection that is almost always transmitted sexually and can be passed easily through unprotected vaginal, oral or anal sex. Sharing sex toys that have not been washed can also spread the infection. Gonorrhoea is most common in young adults under 25 years of age. Men and women may experience gonorrhoea very different with most men being symptomatic and 50% of women being asymptomatic. With both, common symptoms include discharge and pain/difficulty in urinating, however men tend to experience symptoms after 2-5 days whereas in women this can be up to 10 days after contracting the infection.
Gonorrhoea is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections in the Uk. Gonorrhoea can often be symptomless. Untreated gonorrhoea, can cause long-term health conditions including infertility, pelvic inflammatory disease and swollen joints. One third of patients infected with gonorrhoea will also have a chlamydia infection. Doctor Matt therefore prescribes a course of azithromycin, which is highly effective in treating chlamydia infections to accompany Suprax Cefixime gonorrhoea medicine.
Suprax Cefixime 200mg, an oral antibiotic is a highly effective medicine used to treat Gonorrhoea. However as certain strains of gonorrhoea have become resistant to many antibiotics.
The recommended best treatment for gonorrhoea is therefore by combined injection of antibiotics at your local GUM (sexual health) clinic combined with an oral antibiotic.
Take both supplied tablets as a single dose.
Cefixime is the active ingredient in Suprax. In 95% of cases a single course should leave you free of the infection within two weeks. Treatment can sometimes be ineffective as some strains of bacteria that cause gonorrhoea have developed resistance to antibiotics.
Side effects are uncommon but may include headaches, vomiting, diarrhoea or skin rash. In rare circumstances, Cefixime can cause loss of appetite, wind, fever, itchy skin, dizziness and inflammation of the mouth.
The recommended best treatment for gonorrhoea is combined injection of antibiotics combined with an oral antibiotic as some strains have become resistant to certain antibiotics. Please inform any recent sexual partners of your condition and advise them to get tested and treated. We also have to stress that it is important to have yourself tested to ensure you are clear of the condition before resuming sexual relations.
Although the product you receive will the same as described, the actual package you receive it in may be different.
