Chlamydia

Chlamydia is the most common sexually transmitted infection (bacterial) in the UK, with young people under 25 experiencing the highest rates of sexually transmitted infections.

As this infection is mainly asymptomatic (70% in women, 50% in men), it can be easily transmitted through unprotected sexual intercourse. The most common symptoms experienced in both men and women include pain on urination and discharge from the vagina/penis.
