Almost 80% of teenagers will have some form of acne by the time they’re 18, and for around 1 in 5 adults acne can persist until they are in their 20’s, 30’s and even right up into the 40’s. I can provide you with a prescription for your acne and treatments include Duac® Once Daily Gel plus Lymecycline capsules and Oxytetracycline tablets.
If your acne is widespread, or you are finding that over the counter remedies are ineffective, you may require prescription medication. We can prescribe a range of treatments dependent upon the severity of your acne.
Duac®Once Daily Gel 25gm
Duac® Once Daily Gel should be applied once daily in the evening, to affected areas after the skin has been thoroughly washed, rinsed with warm water and gently patted dry.
The medications available are suitable for patients with mild to moderate acne.
Side effects include dry and red areas of skin where the treatment is applied.
Keeping your skin clean is important to prevent acne developing. Wash the affected area twice a day with a mild soap or cleanser, but do not scrub the skin too hard to avoid irritating it.
