The medicine

Telfast® (fexofenadine) 120 mg antihistamine tablets.

How to take it

One tablet is taken daily.

Effectiveness

Starts to work within 30 minutes. Works very well to help prevent sneezing plus blocked and runny noses eg. post nasal drip. Telfast is a non-drowsy antihistamine. Telfast® is a very good antihistamine and is often used as an alternative to Piriton®.

Side-effects

Uncommon but can cause a headache, rash or nausea. In the unlikely event that this medicine causes drowsiness, the effect may be made worse by consuming alcohol or taking any medicines that do cause drowsiness. You should take care driving or operating machinary until you are familar with your response to this medicine.

Other things you should know

Hay fever symptoms arise where the body is sensitive to pollen or dust. The sensitivity results in the release of histamine which in turn causes inflammation.
